Scotland might be seen as damp and cold but the truth is there are a lot of wonderful things to do in Scotland with kids. Think of all of the beautiful castles you can visit. Our favourite is the old home of Mary Queen of Scots, nestled in the Scottish Borders. It is called Traquair House and also offers a wonderful set of grounds including numerous play parks, a small farm animal yard, a maze, a walled garden and a few cute little shops. If you want to find something free to do in Scotland you will not be disappointed – you can hike, cycle, visit the famous Kelpies, or beautiful lakes and waterfalls. The list is endless
There are endless opportunities when it comes to visiting Spain. Some of the hotter ones are in the Canary Islands, which are actually right beside Morocco rather than Spain. You can travel here for almost nothing if you are based in the UK. If you are looking for somewhere clean, safe and full of family activities then Spain is your answer.
Not everybody includes Iceland as part of Europe but for the purpose of this post we are including it. Iceland is a historically rich country with an amazing list of bucketlist items for you to enjoy – even as a family. Check out the Blue Lagoon, or better yet the secret lagoon which is also Iceland’s oldest swimming pool. The Icelandic people often gather at public pools which is one of the most enjoyable experiences to enjoy in Iceland with kids.
Okay, yes, part of Turkey is actually in Asia but that doesn’t mean you cannot check it out. One part of Turkey is actually European, but that doesn’t mean you cannot explore the whole country. Turkey offers an amazing cultural experience mixed with amazing weather and lots of family fun. Why not go on a boat cruise for the day? Maybe enjoy a day shopping at the huge Turkish markets? You will never fall short of things to do in Turkey.
If you have Disney fans then France needs to be on your list for Europe. Disneyland Paris is just one of the Disney parks around the world, but it is the only one in Europe. To top it off nearby is the beautiful Arc De Triomphe and the Eiffel Tower. The kids would certainly never get bored in France.
