The unmissable experiences you need to try in Innerleithen
So you are going to be spending some time in Scotland, more specifically in The Scottish Borders and you are looking for some things to do. A lot of people do not appreciate the area and what it has to offer, so I am here to tell you about some unmissable experiences you need to try in Innerleithen which is a town in The Scottish Borders.
Take on The Burger Challenge at The Tweedside Hotel
If you have not read my post about The Burger Challenge then you need to check that out! The Burger Challenge is the new craze sweeping the area and can offer you the chance to eat at the popular Middle Pub totally free of charge!
You can book into the hotel for the night if you need somewhere to stay in the area.
Take a walk in the wonderful woodlands
Innerleithen offers a bunch of guided walks which are signposted and dirt-paved for your convenience. The walks weave into the woods and up the hills of the area offering you numerous hikes and more relaxed walks to enjoy during your trip here.
There are also concrete paved paths which lead to the nearby towns. You can also use these to cycle providing a whole new way to enjoy the path. My favourite one is the path from Innerleithen beside Iron Mountain which leads through the woods, fields and along the river right up to Cardrona. There are so many ways to enjoy the outdoors here as a family.
Walk the full path to Cardrona and enjoy lunch at Nashy’s Coffee House
One of my most favourite places to enjoy a walk is right up to Cardrona. I have done it so many times I cannot remember. The absolute best way to end the walk (or to split it) is to stop at Nashy’s Coffee House. If you have not yet heard of this place, or tried it, you are missing out.
This place has blown up in the few years it has been open. The food is made every day in the cafe and is beyond delicious.
Innerleithen is famous for its mountain biking. There is a Red Bull hill in the heart of the town offering amazing tracks for those looking for an adrenaline rush.
No more than a few miles away there is also Glentress which offers numerous biking opportunities and much more.
Check out the local sights
There are many cute places to visit in Innerleithen. The beautiful wells are one of my favourites, they are so gorgeous my friends actually got married here. Nearby is the river with the Cuddy Bridge over it. Many couples marrying in the area use this bridge for photoshoots.
You can visit the old printing works and learn a thing or two at Robert Smails, you can climb the hills and find the beautiful stone carvings at the hops, visit the alpacas and so much more.
