Room: Serviced Apartment
The Citadines Grand Central Sri Racha for us is the most homely hotel of everywhere we have stayed on our travels so far. The Citadines Grand Central Sri Racha was an eight floor high building. A great feature about this place is that it has its own car park under the hotel itself. So you don’t have to worry about jumping in that roasting hot car or hopping on that red hot seat because of the sun. The Citadines Grand Central Sri Racha has its own leisure floor which is on the eighth floor.
Here is home to the gym and a roof top pool. The roof top pool was fantastic. It had a kids pool which was perfect depth for Travis as well as an adults pool at approx 1.3 metres deep. The decor and tiling of the pool made it look beautiful with the brown wooden decking surrounding it. To top of the eighth floor was the unusually big secluded Jacuzzi.
The Citadines Hotel was only a few streets from one of the main roads through Sri Racha. Close by the Citadines Hotel was numerous shops, mainly seven-elevens, where you could grab any groceries, water or in our case ice creams for Travis. There was football stadium not far from the Citadines Hotel as well. As we walked past you could see some people training for an upcoming game. Lastly the beach was only a ten minute walk away.
In this case it almost felt like we were at home due to having our very own studio apartment. As you enter the apartment you are in the kitchen/bedroom area. In the kitchen there was everything a kitchen needed. We had a couple of hobs so if we wanted to cook we could, we had a spacious fridge/freezer which was perfect. We also had a kettle and microwave. Although we only cooked once and used the microwave, we could have easily lived here with the facilities provided.
In the bedroom area of the studio was a rather large bed which was very comfortable. At the bottom of the bed there was a two seat couch with a coffee table. This was excellant for catching up on some work or just simply sitting and having a cuppa. Across from the couch was a television. It was on the smaller side compared to many other places we have been accommodated but a television none the less. There was some great channels available here, sports, documentary channel and cartoons for kids. The Citadines Grand Central Sri Racha also provided us with a cot for Travis. Although he didn’t use it, it was still there if he did want to.
The bathroom was a little on further through the apartment. It was beautifully decorated and had a bath with a shower and a completely separate shower. This was fantastic as we could get Travis in the bath and we could have a shower as well as watching Travis.
The perfect solution for families with young kids.
Just outside the bathroom was a small desk beside our balcony which was perfect for small working place. The balcony was a good size, you could see quite a bit of the surrounding streets.
The staff at the Citadines Grand Central Sri Racha were very friendly as well as very helpful. They managed to change our keycard a few times as it wasn’t working properly but had it resolved very quickly. The staff in the breakfast bar on the bottom floor were also super friendly but most of all the cleaning staff were brilliant. They interacted with Travis every time they saw him even if it was a wave. Super friendly people. There were a few guests of different nationalities here as well so Citadines Grand Central Sri Racha had a good mixture of people.
MY FAVOURITE PART
Our favourite part of our stay here at the Citadines Hotel would have to be spending soo much time at the pool with Travis. The mixture of pools made the task in hand of teaching Travis to swim much easier as he could build up his confidence in swimming.
MY LEAST FAVOURITE
The worst part of the stay would be when Tasha got stuck in an elevator and couldn’t operate the lift as the lift was having some difficulties. This was quite a scary moment however on the flip-side of that, the Citadines Grand Central Sri Racha had someone out to fix the lift the very next day. It did turn out though that their card system was causing problems with the lift and the electricity in the rooms.
