Koh Samui was one of my favourite places and a lot of that had to do with the hotel. I loved how it was open plan, there were no walls on the reception/restaurant so we could see the inviting pool as soon as we pulled up. We arrived really early and weren’t able to check in. Samui First House Hotel reception staff were really nice and let us store our bags at their desk while we went for a swim and grabbed a drink.
The hotel was really clean, airy and bright.
Samui First House Hotel was right at the bottom of Chaweng. Kind of the perfect location because you could walk to the action within minutes, or stay away from it and hit up the quieter beach literally 1 minute walk away from the hotel. There were plenty of places to eat nearby, stores and places to get bikes. We were right off the ring road too which meant it was quick to get to and quick to get to anywhere else on the island.

There are also two stunning beaches literally only a minutes walk from the hotel too!
I slept well here. It was not noisy and the room was comfortable, clean and fresh. The bedding was clean and soft too. The aircon kept the room fresh and cool and made it easy to sleep.
I don’t remember meeting many people here. We noticed there were families and young couples. It wasn’t a party place in any way but it was friendly and welcoming.
My favourite part
I loved the location of the hotel. We found it easy to navigate the area. My most, most favourite part was the Jacuzzi attached to the pool. I spent a lot of time relaxing in here in the sun. It was comfortable, mainly (some tiles were broken and cut our toes) and we could enjoy a drink in it. It wasn’t busy either so we got a lot of time in there to ourselves. For great food find De Papas Pizza restaurant 2 minutes walk from the hotel.

My least favourite part
Unfortunately the bath had been blocked up by the last people in the room. The plug, I assume, was full of sand and made the bath flood up if you showered. We just kind of got on with it. They did try to fix it but it didn’t work.
