    I’ve heard about Rome to Rio but haven’t used it yet. I think it’s great to be able to get train schedules for so many countries in one place. And I can’t wait to visit Barcelona.

  4. Good tips! I absolutely love Barcelona so next time I visit i’ll think of heading out to Calella to do a little exploring outside the city, especially as the bus is pretty reasonably priced. I think Rome to Rio is such a useful resource!

    I definitely endorse Rome to Rio. I used it when I was in Japan. It gives good approximate times for travel on bus, train, bike, even car. Very useful travel app!

    Thanks for the tips. I haven’t heard of Rome 2Rio before and found this resource really helpful. I will definitely have to stop by Calella when I travel to Barcelona. It seems easy to get around, which is great to get to see more of Spain.

  11. Rome to Rio has always been my to-goto site to check various travel options to get an idea of the modes of transport available and the ball park prices. I’ve been to Barcelona but missed Calella!

    Couple of years back we drove from Barcelona to Granada, self planned itinerary.

    I find Rome to Rio very useful for working out how to get form one place to another. You’ve found the best way between Calella and Barcelona. That’s a very useful tip about getting there early for a seat, even moreso with kids.

  15. Rome2Rio is fantastic isn’t it! I’ve only just recently discovered it but have been super impressed so far. Definitely would help to find out how to get to Barcelona from Calella. Good to know the bus system is pretty easy to navigate!

  16. I am off to Barcelona in august and it would be nice to explore the surroundings. I would love to book the bus in advance , if possible. Buses are almost always crammed … so … I would agree with your general view as well. But as it not a long ride, it should be done soon!

    Rome 2 Rio, I didn’t know about it. Maybe I will use it myself. Sounds good as per your suggestion.
