Considering getting an on-the-road purification bottle to keep you healthy and your wallet fuller as you travel? You need to try the ultralight water bottle by Grayl.
WHAT IT IS?
The Grayl ultralight water bottle is exactly as it sounds, a water bottle that purifies water from any source other than the sea. These water bottles are absolutely perfect for the keen traveller. These water bottles can hold 473 ml of purified water. One of these filters is the equivalent to 300 bottles of water, quite the saving if you add it up! Just an example – a bottle of water can cost £1 in the UK… This is a huge money saver and also reduces the usage of plastic on our planet. Plastic is something that if you don’t know is slowly destroying our planet by being in the ocean, killing marine life which in turn is destroying many marine eco-systems.
HOW IT WORKS?
This ultralight water bottle is very easy to work. You simply pull the inner tube out of the outer one. Fill the outer tube to the marked level and then press the inner back inside the outer. This will compress the air and force the water through the filter in turn filtering out any bacteria’s, chemicals, heavy metals, particulates, protozoa and viruses by 99.9999%. The water takes roughly 15 seconds to filter when the inner tube is being forced back inside the outer. Once you have pulled the inner tube out, the filter is removable and can be re-placed. You can easily order these online too which is such a hassle free way to shop.
The ultralight water bottle isn’t to big. However it is massive to have on scale of importance if you want to save money and be eco-friendly. It weighs 10.9 oz.
Lucky to have so much safe drinking water no matter where we are in the world thanks to @thegrayl – drinking by the rooftop pool in Thailand. Reducing plastic waste. You can get the water bottle in a few different colours, we got ours from Grayl in blue. The outer tube is the coloured part of the bottle. On the inside the inner tube is transparent with the orange filter attached at the bottom of the inner tube. The lid is really simple and is a screw on. There is a loop on the lid enabling you to attach the water bottle to something using a clip or ribbon. A great feature of the water bottle is that is very durable and robust.
We found it to suit both male and females, and our son just loved the colour of it, which meant he was more willing to drink water. Since you can see the water after you purify it you can also add a little squash to it for children without the filter removing it all like some other bottles.
We also have this bottle in green, find out what we thought.
